Ameliorative Effect of Young Leaves of Triticum Aestivum on Carrageenin Induced Inflammation

چکیده
Young leaves of Triticum aestivum is commonly known as Wheatgrass and has been widely used in the traditional system for the treatment of a variety of diseases. In this study we have used ninth day wheat grass methanolic extract of the shade dried drug for its anti-inflammatory & analgesic activities. . It was carried out using Carrageenan induced paw edema volume, Hot plate and Writhing response model which is comparable with standard drug. The methanolic fraction of the grass extract of Triticum aestivum (500 mg/kg) showed the significant inhibition of carrageenin induced rat paw oedema at the end of fourth hour. The extract also significantly reduced thermal and chemical induced nociception (Hot plate and writhing response) in mice when compared with vehicle treated group. The results prove that the methanolic fraction of the grass extract of Triticum aestivum showed anti-inflammatory activity and analgesic activity in acute inflammation and also proved the usage of traditional claims.

The effect of various NaCl treatments (0, 50, 100, 200 and 300 mM) at different growth and development stages (tillering, boot swelling, flowering and polination) of two wheat cultivars (Ghods : salt-sensitive; Boolani : salt-resistant) on proline concentration and the kinetic activity of proline dehydrogenase was studied under greenhouse conditions. Generally, in response to salinity treatment...

Silicon is known to ameliorate the deleterious effects of drought on plant growth. We evaluated growth of wheat (Triticum aestivum L. CV. Chamran) under Water-Deficit Stress Induced by Polyethylene Glycol as affected by Si application. In this article, the effects of Si (as potassium silicate) on some parameters related to growth, chlorophyll concentration relative water content (RWC), electrol...

The infl uence of cadmium (Cd) on physiological processes in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and maize (Zea mays L.) plants exposed to either optimal mineral nutrition or the absence of magnesium (Mg) as well as the accumulation of cadmium and magnesium in plant organs were studied using the method of water culture in a greenhouse. Cd treatment reduced shoot fresh mass more strongly in Mg-supplied...
